Growing Industrial Hemp in Hawai`i: Potential for the Agricultural Industry. Harry Ako With Melody Heidel, Alan Yoshimoto, Masahiro Yoshioka, and Yosuke Kawai – Department of Molecular Biosciences and Bioengineering – University of Hawai’i at Manoa.

The Hemp plant has 25,000 uses including Bast fiber (outside of stalk), Apparel, Ropes, canvas, Hurd (woody core), Hempcrete Fiber board, insulation, Animal bedding, Bioenergy, Seed – Bread, chips, granola, Protein powder for bodybuilders, Animal feeds, bird seeds, Salad oil, Cosmetics oil, and Body care products
