Hawaii House of Representatives to Honor Founder of Innovative Scholarship Program

“Education is the great equalizer,” said Rep. Gene Ward. “Rather than waiting for government to step in, Jim has found a creative way to solve a challenge and help young people discover new opportunities and achieve more than they ever dreamed.”

The program supports over 100 students in their first and second years at Kauai Community College. Lally plans to one day expand the program to all University of Hawaii community colleges, helping to improve people’s lives while creating a better-educated workforce and a stronger local economy.
