Representative Lauren Kealohilani Matsumoto was born and raised in Mililani and is a graduate of the public school system in Mililani.
She attended the University of Hawaii at Manoa, where she majored in film production. Rep. Matsumoto has her Master's in Business Administration from Hawaii Pacific University and earned her doctorate in organizational change & development in 2019.
She has been proudly serving District 45 and the residents of Mililani, Schofield, Wheeler, Kunia, Waialua, and Mokuleia since 2012. Rep. Matsumoto has been the Minority Floor Leader since 2019. Currently, she serves on three committees: Consumer Protection and Commerce; Economic Development and Business; and Labor and Public Employment. She also serves on the national board of Women in Government, a national non-partisan organization and is a founding member of Echelon Salvation Army Board for young professionals.
