KAPILINA HOMES ELECTRIC RATES UPDATE
On Oct. 22, 2019, a town hall meeting was held at Iroquois Point Elementary School to help clarify the situation on electric rates at Kapilina Beach Homes.
A packed cafeteria looked on as representatives from HECO, NAVFAC and Kapilina Homes addressed resident's concerns over unexpected increases in electricity costs.
"Our intent was to help provide information and improve the communication process," says Rep. Bob McDermott. "We have 1,400 families in this wonderful community and they were very
concerned. Unfortunately, we were unable to answer everyone's individual concerns, but we did our best to provide key information and, most importantly, listen."
My office also sent a letter to Congressman Ed Case, asking for the following:
A Comprehensive Health and Safety Inspection of the Entire Kapilina Electrical Grid
Recapitalization and Investment in Grid
Incorporation of New Solar to Provide Some Cost Relief for Residents.
